When I saw the $68 dollar price tag I figured this would be a fun little gimmick lens to get that I would eventually return. Now after using it on multiple videos and photoshoots, I can safely say it has become an essential part of my kit. The metal body, tiny size, and manual focus/aperture make it a joy to film with. And at 25mm (50mm full-frame) it’s extremely versatile. F1.8 is bright enough for most lighting scenarios and gives a solid amount of background blur (bokeh is also very smooth and pleasing) for close up and medium shots. Sharpness is quite good across the board even wide open. It also has very interesting flair characteristics at 1.8 and when stopped down creates very appealing sun stars. My only nitpicks would be that the close focusing distance is too long for real close up macro (works for most flowers though) and it isn’t weather-sealed, but considering these lenses extreme affordability and amazing features mentioned earlier my critiques are hardly valid.
