How to Be Near Nature While Indoors

Whether we are stuck inside working, or the weather prevents us from enjoying the great outdoors, there are plenty of reasons why people may want to experience nature from the comfort of their own homes.

This piece is going to take a look at some of the ways that people can into their homes to get them closer to nature.

Why Not Just Go Outside?

If people want to be close to nature, you might wonder why they don’t just step outside? The reality is, there are many reasons why the outdoors is not a solution for everyone… Some may have mobility problems, others may have Agoraphobia (a fear of leaving the sanctuary of their home); in some cases, Hay fever can make stepping outside of the house pretty miserable; in summer, fair-skinned folk need to stay out of the sun as much as possible; some people are allergic to mosquitos, bees and wasps, and on top of that, the weather can get extremely interchangeable.

Even so, that doesn’t mean anyone has to miss out on experiencing the beauty and serenity of nature – they can create their own version of nature, indoors.

Get Some Houseplants

House plants are the most common means of bringing the outside in, to enjoy, and it is probably one of the easiest options available! If you are a beginner in looking after house plants, then choose some of the more ‘survive on their own’ types to get you started. That way you can enjoy greenery in your home, without having too much pressure on preservation.

Some of the best beginner plants include:

  1. Cactus
  2. Peace lily
  3. Aloe vera
  4. Herbs, such as mint and parsley

Bring Indoors Outdoors!

If you cannot stay outside to be with nature, a simple shelter may suffice – maybe a little shed would suit your needs, or if you’re after something more extravagant, a couple of Eco Rooms, would provide your own indoor space, outdoors, to offer you the best of both worlds. Eco-rooms are not only great for the environment, but they also give you close-up access to everything nature has to offer, while keeping you safe and snug inside. Enjoy the sunshine, the rain, the birds, and your plants, all from a custom created garden room – you might never want to go back to the house!

Create A Snug Room

If you don’t have the space or money for an additional room in the garden, then focus on turning a room in your house into the ultimate nature snug room. This could be where you put all of your house plants, where the most natural light comes in. You can create a green space that not only looks appealing, but boosts your mood and soothes your senses. Plants have been proven to lower stress levels by creating a feeling of well-being. They may also help to purify the air, which is beneficial to health.
